Robert F.
Garrison (formerly Professor and Associate Director, DDO, in
charge of Chile operations; Profesor Emeritus since 2001 June 30) was
involved with UTSO from the initial planning in 1969 until the
decommissioning in 1998.
The following individuals were chiefly responsible for UTSO
instrumentation from 1990 onward:

Brian Beattie: assisted with operations and decommissioning; now
employed in the USA private sector

Dave Earlam: machinist; constructed instruments, working
with Archie Ridder (and before 1990, with David Blyth); now retired

Frank Hawker: electronics technician; now retired

Karl Kamper: Adjunct Professor of Astronomy, University of Toronto;
optical engineer; designed and supervised construction of most UTSO
instruments; died in 1998

John Pimentel: electronics technician; has now left DDO

Archie Ridder: machinist and computer technician; constructed
instruments, working with Dave Earlam (and before 1990, with David
Blyth)

Florence Unwin: handled much of the accounting and logistics; now
retired
