(2003). The RA and dec for the four variables V14, V15, V18, V19 are from the GCVS where they are listed as V2719 Oph, V2721 Oph, V2718 Oph and V2720 Oph respectively. For the remaining variables, the RA and dec are from matches with 2MASS sources. Initially, provisional values were calculated from relationships derived by Layden et al. (2003): Delta RA = -0.396*(X_pix - 1059); Delta dec = -0.396*(Y_pix - 993). For these calculations, the cluster centre was assumed to be 17:16:37.3, -28:08:24.4, the value published in the 2010 version of the Harris (1996) catalogue. The provisional coordinates and the 2MASS coordinates agreed to within 1 arcsec for all the variables except V11 for which the difference was 3 arcsec. ===================================================================== Discovery of the variable stars in NGC 6316 V1-19 Layden et al. (2003) with pixel numbers PSR: According to Paulo Freire's website at the Max Planck Institute in Bonn (July 2024 version), there is 1 millisecond pulsar in NGC 6316. ===================================================================== References Harris, W.
