The specialized topics modular courses are the equivalent to half of a standard elective course (0.25 FCE). These courses include both one-time-only offerings from visiting scientists and postdoctoral fellows, and more regular offerings from faculty members.
The module topics will vary year to year and give students the flexibility to examine a diverse range of subjects in a compressed format. The topics offered will be based on program needs and instructor availability (within a particular area not included in other course offerings).
The modules are repeatable for credit if taken with a different topic. Individual topics will be differentiated in ACORN with a subtitle and unique lecture code. Students may take up to 4 modular courses (1.0FCE) toward the required graduate electives.
The topic offerings are announced via email throughout the fall and winter sessions and may include summer session modules.
